6 New tablets launched with built-in SIM card slot

Portability and usefulness of tablets are known to everybody. However, all tablets are equal in functionalities. While some tablets are used only for connecting internet and Wi-Fi, some tablets with SIM card slots allow connectivity with both Wi-Fi and 3G networks, if the phone coverage is there.

ASUS ZenPad 8

Asus, one of the largest computer hardware companies in the world, launches its new tablet with SIM card slot namely Asus ZenPad 8.0 (z380KL). The device with a measurement of 209x123x8.50 and a weight of 350 grams is a single SIM tablet, which accommodates a Micro-SIM. It features an 8.00-inch display that has a resolution of 1280 pixels at a PPI of 189 pixels per inch. Coming to the camera element, the Asus ZenPad has an 8-megapizel primary camera on the back and a 2-megapixel front camera, which offers good ‘selfy’ experience.

The tablet is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8929) processor and 2GB of RAM. Even though the in-built internal storage of Asus ZenPad 8.0 is 16GB, it can be expanded up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card. The operating system running in the tablet is Android 5.0. The connectivity options offered by Asus ZenPad 8.0 tablet are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G. It also packs the following sensors including Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor and Accelerometer. A 4000mAh non removable battery is used in the tablet.

Pantel Technologies, a young information Technology and Comunication devices company, introduces innovative tablet in the Indian, African and South-East Asian markets under the brand name of Penta T-Pad. Penta T-Pad WS802Q 3G tablet, priced at Rs, 6999, is exclusively available via Grab the Future website and Homeshop 18. This white color tablet supports dual-SIM and 3G network just like the previous model, Penta T-Pad WS704DX.

The tablet has an 8-inch IPS display that offers a resolution of 1280x800 pixels resolution. Penta T-Pad WS802Q 3G features an 8-megapixel rear camera that has a LED flash. It offers excellent video conferencing experience. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera in the tablet that is suitable for taking selfies.Penta T-Pad WS704DX also features connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, USB OTG and Micro-USB. But, the presence of a microSD card slot makes it enable to expand the storage capacity up to 32GB. The operating system run in Pantel Penta T-Pad WS802Q 3G is Android 4.4.2. There is also a 4000mAh non removable battery in the tablet.

Alcatel Onetouch POP 8S

Alcatel OneTouch Pop 8S, which is introduced to the market aimed at budget buyers, is a narrow tablet with light weight of 325 grams. The tablet that is available in black colour variant measures 209x123x7.99mm. The glossy plastic used to make the device gives it fairly cheap look. Alcatel Onetouch POP 8S does not have any physical buttons, as it uses on-screen navigation keys for the tablet. Moreover, the company does not provide earpiece and so it can’t be used for voice calls. The right side of the tablet occupied a volume rocker and a power key. You can see a lid-protected microSD and a microSIM card slots in the left side.

Alcatel Onetouch POP 8S has an 8-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280x 800 pixels, which is decent, even though not great. Coming the pixel density, OneTouch POP 8S comes in at 189ppi. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 3-megapixel front-facing camera to the tablet. OneTouch POP 8S offers the connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth Smart and USB connectivity. The device comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The operating system of the tablet is Android 4.4KitKat. There is also 4060mAh battery in OneTouch POP 8S that delivers up to 351 hours of standby time.

Dell Venue 8 is a lightweight tablet with less than 9.5mm thickness. This tablet, which was launched in January 2014, features an 8.00-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 pixels. It also has a screen size of 20.32 cm, which is comfortable for video watching. The 5-megapixel primary camera gives decent photographs and video calls. It has a 2-megapixel front shooter suitable for selfies.

Powered by 2GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor, The Dell Venue 8 tablet comes with 2 GB of RAM. It is also packed with 16GB of internal storage. If you want more storage capacity, insert a microSD card into the slot provided in the device and it enables you to expand the storage up to 32GB. The device also runs Android 4.2 operating system and includes a 4100mAh non removable battery.
